Key Features and Benefits

OpenSound Navigator

With the latest Xceed hearing aids, Oticon brings its proven open sound navigator system to their power range of hearing aids. OpenSound Navigator was first released in the widely successful Opn hearing aid family. This feature is available in the Xceed 1 (Premium) and Xceed 2 (Advanced) technology levels.

Previous hearing aids would attempt to help people hear in background noise with directional microphone technology, where the hearing aids would focus predominantly on the speaker directly in front of the person. Which meant that the person often missed important information from those who were seated beside or around them.

However, with Xceed 1 and 2 hearing aids, they constantly analyse and preserve speech from all directions while significantly reducing noise – even in between words. Since OpenSound Navigator provides 360° access to relevant speakers, it supports the brain to decide who and what to listen to, and to follow conversations with several people in noisy environments.

The newXceed technology gives access to all speakers and lets you decide what you want to focus on.

OpenSound Optimizer

Anyone who has worn traditional power hearing aids will know how annoying feedback can be. With Oticon’s OpenSound Optimiser feature, we can now deliver optimum levels of amplification with very little chance of feedback (whistling).

OpenSound Optimizer analyses the incoming sound at 56,000 times/second and significantly reduces feedback before it even happens. The result is more consistent access to speech cues throughout the day with minimal adjustments to the levels of amplification.

OpenSound Optimiser is available in all 3 technology levels with Xceed

Free Online Hearing Test

Hearing tests check a person’s ability to hear the loudness and pitch of sounds. Some reasons why you may need a hearing test include ringing in your ears, others complaining that you talk too loud or watch the TV on high volume, or simply you have trouble hearing conversations.

While there’s no replacement for a consultation with a hearing-care expert, our free online hearing screening can provide some quick and useful feedback about your hearing. The screening should be carried out in quite space and all you need is a pair of headphones!
